Project Overview

A dozen rate cards, one comparison.

Planning a round of public golf around the Greater Toronto Area means visiting a dozen course websites, each with its own rate card. Prices change by day, time, number of holes, and whether you walk or ride. Comparing two courses fairly is tedious, and working out what a foursome will actually pay is worse.

Eye On The Ball puts it all in one place: find public courses on a map, compare real green fees, build a price quote for your group, and keep track of your scores.

What we did

Find a course

Over 100 public courses, easy to search

Courses appear as pins on a map or in a list sorted by distance. Search suggests as you type and forgives typos, and filters narrow by holes, course style, driving range, fee and distance.

See the real rates

Every rate table in one place

Each course shows its full rate table, including weekday and weekend pricing, twilight discounts and cart fees.

No more doing the math

Green fees, carts and tax, worked out for you

Prices change by day, time and cart. Enter your round and the total for your group comes back, so you can compare courses fairly.

Scorecards and scores

Track your rounds privately

Hole-by-hole par, yardage by tee and handicap for each course, plus a private score log when you sign in with Google.

Run from a spreadsheet

No admin panel to learn

The site reads the client's Google Sheet every day. Rows the system cannot read are listed in a Sync Errors tab, and a preview shows what a sync would change.

Built to stay up

Fast, and ready for a phone app

Course data is cached, a built-in copy of the list keeps the map working if the database is down, and the pricing logic is separate so a mobile app can reuse it.
