A tournament run on a site that was not built for it.
WCP Athletics United runs Canada’s mini World Cup, a multicultural soccer tournament in Regina. Its old website was built on SportsPress, which was not made for how WCP works. Uploading data to the site took a lot of manual effort, the navigation was complicated, and the site was difficult for visitors to use.

A clearer, more modern site
Easy to follow and professional
A full redesign and a simpler sitemap, so visitors can find schedules and information quickly.
Team registration
Teams set themselves up
Teams register on the site, choose their country and jersey colours, and that creates the team in the backend with no manual entry.
Roster approval and game sheets
Less re-entering
Once a roster is approved, it publishes to the site, and game sheets can be created from it.
A tournament app
Fans follow their team from their phone
A mobile app (PWA) that lets visitors follow their favourite teams and divisions throughout the tournament.
Content the client edits
The design stays consistent
A simple way to update the site from the backend without breaking the layout.
Automatic archiving
Past years are easy to find
When a tournament finishes, WCP can archive it so previous years stay easy to go back to.
Next case studies.
